High Tech firm uses unique intern program to help protect America 2004-11-01
Advanced Acoustic Concepts has an amazing internship program thanks to the hard work and dedication of Congressman Murtha who had a strong interest in the Fayette County area, and felt it was critical to keep talented young folks in the county.
AAC does their part through twenty interns a year, and has a unique way to move them forward. Mr. Boyle explains, “We put them into a pipeline system, like a minor league baseball team; Double A, Triple A and so forth. We get them in their college freshmen year up to their senior year. They get a chance to understand us, we get a chance to understand them.

Advanced Acoustic Concepts (AAC), of Hauppauge NY, has been awarded an $800,000 production contract from the US Navy to manufacture the Acoustic Tile Window for installation on US submarines. The acoustic window will be delivered to the US Navy from AAC’s new manufacturing and integration and testing facility at their Fayette County Operations in Uniontown, PA.

Research (SBIR) contract for the Tripwire Sensor Processor System for improved Surface Ship

Processor System will position AAC as the prime integrator in deploying Torpedo Detection
Classification Systems aboard carriers, amphibious assault, combatant logistics force (CLF),
military sealift logistics force (MSLF) and selected DDG51 class ships.

The DDLS Coursebuilder authoring tool produced content certified SCORM 1.2 compliant by the ADL Co-Lab. The Shareable Content Objects, XML Metadata, and Learning Management system API calls were tested against graded levels of compliance. DDLS-produced courseware achieved the highest level in all 3 test categories.
