Advanced Acoustic Concepts Announces Acoustic Tile Project

Advanced Acoustic Concepts (AAC), of Hauppauge NY, has been awarded an $800,000 production contract from the US Navy to manufacture the Acoustic Tile Window for installation on US submarines. The acoustic window will be delivered to the US Navy from AAC’s new manufacturing and integration and testing facility at their Fayette County Operations in Uniontown, PA.


The primary purpose of the acoustic window is to provide an acoustically transparent interface to seawater from the sensor by allowing high frequency acoustic signals to pass with little reflection or attenuation. Second, the window provides protection to the sensor from floating debris and smoother conformance to the hull, thereby reducing flow noise. AAC Senior Vice President, Brian Boyle, declared, “AAC would like to thank Congressman John P. Murtha for his continued support. This award is important towards AAC’s continued commitment to begin production manufacturing at our Fayette County Operations.
