Rapid Supportability Insertion (RSI): Tactical Training Equipment

AAC’s Tactical Training Equipment (TTE) technology is one of the most innovative solutions for the RTI market. Legacy TTEs have been expensive, computer intensive and have provided limited tactical trainer utility. AAC’s TTE technology brings actual tactical warfighting capability into the classroom environment. The instructor is able to concurrently monitor and interact with individual, group, sub-team and team training sessions. TTE leverages state-of-the-art data-cast link manager, session management, and monitor record interface (MRI) tap point technologies.

Data-cast link manager technology allows data published by any stage of a processing string to be propagated into the identical tap point of a similar processing string. Data from various points in an application can be published to various points in another instance of that application –whether running within the same network or bridging to another network.
Session management allows users to create and save session definitions and to request start, stop or modification of sessions. User access to sessions is controlled based on the user’s role. Session management provides the capability to create on-demand sessions.

MRI passively taps into the tactical combat system and allows seamless data capture and playback capability, independent of message type (UDP Multicast, CORBA, DDS, Web Services, etc.) The tap points are publicly accessible interfaces between tiers of the combat system’s architecture. The tap points are both monitoring points and injection points by which other downstream taps can be stimulated. Additionally, AAC’s MRI monitor capability records and plays back operator actions to support reconstruction, debrief and other educational requirements.

TTE offers affordable training using existing tactical baselines, thereby providing both a realistic training system that can be seamlessly upgraded as new functions/capabilities are added to the fleet and trainers.

AAC’s TTE technology configures to the target needs of the users from cradle to grave – from development, through transition, and in-service.

AAC’s TTE technology is currently fielded at the Scaled Improved Performance Sonar (SIPS) training facility at the Center for Surface Combat Systems (CSCS) Schoolhouse, located in San Diego, CA.
