Rapid Supportability Insertion (RSI): Training Development, Delivery, and Tracking
|
AAC’s supportability products are designed to maximize content reusability, accessibility, durability and interoperability. To this end, AAC has developed a suite of web-based, SCORM-compliant tools, including a courseware authoring tool (DDLS), technical data authoring tool (TAMe), and a Learning Management System (LMS). This suite of tools provides a comprehensive, license-free, XML-based authoring and playback system.
Content developed in TAMe can be searched, selected, and linked to training content from DDLS. Content

developed in DDLS and TAMe can be published to play back in multiple environments, including various Microsoft Windows, Solaris, and LINUX versions and tactical consoles.
DDLS was developed to comply with the Department of Defense (DoD) Shareable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM). DDLS and LMS conform to both SCORM 1.2 and SCORM 2004 standards.
The DDLS Authoring Tool allows course developers and subject matter experts (SMEs), and non-programmers to develop training content packages that are Sharable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM) compliant. DDLS further advances the concept of reuse by separating content from logic (dynamically assembled at runtime), and harnessing the XML-data storage and retrieval capabilities of the Supportability Content Management System (CMS).
DDLS provides data entry forms that allow SMEs to enter and organize the information needed to create, maintain, and manage online learning content objects, assets, and courses. DDLS permits course authors to develop training materials by presenting courseware in a logical format in an easy to use authoring tool.
LMS is a lightweight SCORM 1.2 and 2004 player which supports a variety of environments (including tactical consoles). LMS includes tracking, reporting, and data export tools including NTMPS/SRFTMPS data import and export. AAC’s LMS is a DOD Advanced Distributed Learning SCORM Certified product. (ADLNet.gov)
In addition, RSI tools provide:
- Common training playback for both ashore and afloat environments
- Publish to NKO-ILE
- Unified common data for tech manuals and training (via XML schema)
- Electronic training jacket with NTMPS/SRFTMPS data link
