RTI Product Development: SimStim
|
AAC’s Simulation Stimulation (SimStim) is an acoustic simulation and injection tool for acoustic sensor stimulation training. SimStim is used to create and execute scenarios for underwater acoustic training. The scenarios run in real time, generating real-time acoustic data, providing real-time operator training.
SimStim provides front end stimulation for a wide variety of acoustic and non-acoustic interfaces, for training as well as test and evaluation applications. SimStim capabilities and models include:
|
|
|
- SimStim Graphical User Interface which provides a GEOSIT display with real world contours, control pages for scenario entry and instructor control
- SimStim Scenario Scripting with sequenced events for contacts and environment allowing repeatable event playback for training and testing
- SimStim Contact Modeling with full compatibility to Acoustic Training and Simulation (ATaS) NAVAIR database with support for both high and low fidelity contacts
- SimStim Ocean Environment Modeling which provides both range dependent and range independent environment models, sound propagation simulation and reverberation simulation
- SimStim Sensor Modeling which is compatible with the Common Sensor Database (CSDB) NAVAIR database and includes analog sonobuoys, digital sonobuoys, dipping sonar, line, spherical and volumetric arrays
- SimStim Battlegroup Training supporting multiple modes of training including local individual and team training, remote host driven training and battlegroup training participation
SimStim’s applications offer high fidelity simulation of targets in the actual operating environment for realistic training. With its calibrated sources, repeatable data sequences, and deterministic ocean environments, SimStim provides segment-to-system level test and verification capability for mission package interfaces.
AAC is the primary provider of Acoustic SimStim systems to NAVAIR including the Tactical Operational Flight Trainer (TOFT) for the MH-60R platform as well as the P3C Tactical Operational Readiness Trainer (TORT). The NSSN Virginia class submarine sonar suite is utilizing AAC’s Acoustic SimStim systems products. In addition, AAC’s On-Board Trainers are installed on Trident/SSN platforms.
AAC’s SimStim utilizes license-free, open sources and Open Architecture (OA) compliant hardware and software.
